Started and finished moving into my new apartment today. It was not fun lugging everything inside with no help, but hey, I managed. Is it normal for the landlord to greet you when you move in? Didn’t happen at my last place but I can’t say that was an ideal living situation anyway. I guess it did make sense for him to come meet me since I needed to get the key. It was a bit of a weird interaction? But it seemed more like he was just giving me information on the building. He said that I was one of the first people to move in. He told me that there were some people moved in on the first and second floors but that no one other than me had moved in to the third. I guess it must be because of the cost, it isn’t cheap to move into new construction after all. After that he left, didn’t even offer to help me move my stuff in, hence the doing it by myself. All the boxes are moved in and I have furniture to sleep on though so I can’t complain too much. This is definitely nicer than my old place too. Warmer maybe? I am a little far from the stairs though. My apartment is at the end of the hallway with the stairs and elevator at the other end. It isn’t a huge problem, but it definitely made moving stuff in more of a pain. Maybe it’s a good thing no one else is moved in up here, they didn’t have to hear me dragging my heavier stuff down the corridor. I need to keep unpacking boxes if I want to be able to sleep tonight. The joys of being somewhere new.
